Evaporative cooling simplified

What is evaporative cooling ?

Have you noticed how quickly a wet cloth dries in the wind? And most important how cold it would be.

That is evaporative cooling !!!, and evaporative coolers, air coolers, and outdoor coolers uses a combination of fans and wet pads as the basis. Water is going through first evaporative pads – that are designed to have a significant contact surface with water and air – allowing air to flow through them smoothly at the same time. The air cools down at all this big surface due to the water evaporation energy consumption. That cool air at the pads surface is sucked by a fan to be used for cooling.

That is really one of the simplest explanations of evaporative cooling I came across recently.
